Finally, part 2 is here! Featuring a new area to explore, Bayside Heights is now packed with fresh race courses, a new garage, shops, and so much more. All crafted with passion by Syaan.
Thanks to Rarti for setting respawn points and GPS in the expansion, MatthewChow for his modeling assistance and help with rendering, and the rest of the NFSSA team for their support and contributions to making this update possible!
Bayside Heights now includes a URL entry point, airport travel, new shops of all types, 2 new magazine spots and a new safehouse garage with unique interior and music!

Drift 2.0

Get ready to slide into the New Year with the new Drift 2.0 Handling!

The "Drift 2.0" is launching in beta, so expect all kinds of changes and additions to handling, game mode and UI. We also welcome your feedback!

New Drift Handling:
The new handling model is substantially faster and more controllable on all surfaces and at all speeds. If you've played on other MTA servers that include drift, this system might feel familiar. All cars now have approximately the same performance, making races and freerun drifting more diverse and balanced.

For now, 2.0 handling is enabled for all cars by default (except for Drift Classic game mode). This includes AWD, FWD, A-class, and even SUVs. Essentially, everything can be a drift car!

We've created a small tuning guide to help you get started. Please note that old dynos might not be compatible with 2.0. It's highly recommended to start from scratch!

Drift 2.0 game mode:
To fully realize the potential of the new handling model, we've updated the game mode. All of the new additions are delicately balanced to make races fast paced and, hopefully, allow different playstyles and types of cars to be viable, as well as to give more room for error.
  • Speed bonus: An exponential bonus that greatly rewards driving fast. 
  • Clean section bonus: A multiplier that is applied after you successfully bank your score or finish the race. It goes up to 5.0x and is increased gradually if you keep your combo going and don't collide with obstacles.  
  • Nerfed proximity bonus: Also known as "bonus zones". You get less bonus points when drifting close to the walls.
  • Reworked wall collision penalty: Instead of losing everything on impact, only a fraction of your base score will be subtracted. The amount of points lost depends on the speed of the collision. It does not break your combo, but removes the clean section bonus.
  • Permanently increased rewards: Drift 2.0 races should be worth your time!
The old game mode remains in the game and is now called "Drift Classic". It uses old handling model and scoring system. Drift Classic toptime board is separated from Drift 2.0 records board.
There are also 6 new TaskPoint tasks for finishing/winning Drift 2.0 races: Pro Drifter and Drift King!
The 500,000 drift points daily task can be completed thru both Drift Classic and Drift 2.0
Drift Classic is now removed from Quick Race pool and is replaced by the new Drift 2.0 race type.

As this is a kind of beta release for Drift 2.0, we will watch how players experience the new racetype and we might wipe Drift 2.0 toptimes due to balance changes

Futo Small Update

The Futo now features several new parts by Syaan inspired by the S12, along with a few tweaks and changes.

  • Rewritten some parts of code to optimize races.
  • Hyze and nide have been promoted to Contributor! They will be helping us with mapping, graphics and community interaction related quiestions.
